What is Parann?
Parann (பரண்) means "loft" in Tamil — the overhead storage in traditional homes where families keep things safe for generations.
Parann is a hosted CMS in the Metarium ecosystem. It provides a simple scaffold for storing and retrieving content — upload via API, download by ID, UUID, or path. Content is organized into series, and uploads can be linked using a built-in graph with semantic predicates.
Authentication uses Substrate (SS58) keypairs. An administrator controls access and can grant scribe permissions to other addresses.

Sign a challenge with your SS58 address to get access tokens. No passwords, no OAuth — just cryptographic signing.
Upload content to a series
Send text or binary content to any series via the API. Each upload gets a UUID and an optional human-readable lookup path.
Retrieve by ID, UUID, or path
Download content however you need it. List uploads with cursor-based pagination. Simple data in, data out.
Link content with graph relationships
Connect uploads using semantic predicates — broader, narrower, derivedFrom, partOf, and more. Build a knowledge graph across your content.
Your data, your rules
Portable by design
Your data is yours. Move it between providers anytime — from a hosted Parann instance to a private CMS, or the other way around. No lock-in, no export requests. The ecosystem is modular: swap the CMS layer, the blockchain layer, or both.
Substrate-based access control
Authentication is built on Substrate cryptography. One administrator address, with the ability to grant scribe access to others. No centralized identity provider required.
Simple scaffold
Upload content, download content, list content, link content. Series for organization, UUIDs for global identity, lookup paths for human-readable access. Nothing more than you need.
